Precise Fit is All-Important

One Pair of Feet Per Lifetime

Your feet are your body’s foundation. They take you places, carry you and your packages, lift you up and down, bend and stretch as you go about your day. They help you get your work done, then go out and play.

Shoes that fit well support your feet, legs, hips and back and play an important role in your long-term mobility.

The Althea’s Footwear Fit

We employ only experienced shoe-fitting professionals. Our staff take the time to match you with shoes that fit the best for the activity you have in mind.

  • Measure each foot

  • Examine any foot trouble spots you identify

  • Assess the fit of shoes you try on

  • Craft adjustments, like stretching and padding, to your selected new shoes at no additional cost.

If you have unique feet or medical challenges, we team you up with a Certified Pedorthist to complete an in-depth evaluation of your footwear needs.

Our goal is to help you get the most enjoyment possible from work, sport, travel and all your life’s activities.

About Our Company

Founded on a simple idea, our stores provide what others don’t: a wide variety of shoes crafted intentionally to promote foot health.

As with most good ideas, this one came from experience. During her first 12 years’ helping people with artificial limbs, diabetes and other conditions, Certified Pedorthist Althea Schlumpf saw a way to make special shoes fit better and with fewer hassles for the clinic’s patients—start with a pair that is well-matched to its owner’s feet. In 2000, she opened her first store in Everett, WA creating a company of devoted specialists who help people with unique feet get shoes that feel good, look good and protect their health.
